Columbia sits near the middle of Boone County, Missouri, a county of about 191,746 people (2025 Census estimate) where 57.7% of homes are owner-occupied. We connect homeowners in the city, elsewhere in the county and in nearby towns with one independent local roofer who serves their area.
Where you live also decides who issues the permit. Inside Columbia city limits, the City handles it; on rural land outside any town, Boone County does; and each smaller city runs its own desk. The list below names the right office for every town we cover.

Just Outside the Map?
A Columbia mailing address doesn't always mean a Columbia permit. Many rural homes sit outside city limits, and for those the County lists re-roofing as work that needs a permit. Boone County Resource Management is at 801 E. Walnut, Room 315, Columbia, and its inspections line is (573) 886-4339. Smaller towns in the county keep their own rules, so check with your town hall too.
If your town isn't listed, call (573) 555-0185 anyway. We will tell you honestly whether a roofer serves your address, and the call costs nothing.
